Innovation Zoysia’s summer mower heights are 0.5-1.5 inches. When mowing in the summer, don’t remove more than 1/3 of the leaf blades. It can cause stress to your grass if you remove more than 1/3 of the leaf-blade at once. You may notice a rapid browning of your grass.
Higher blades provide more shade for your root system which allows it to stay cool and retain water during the hot summer months. If you are returning from vacation, you may have to mow your grass several times. You should wait between each mow for three to five days.
Don’t overwater your grass. Each week, innovation needs about one inch of water. Water should not be used for shorter periods of time, less frequently and in the morning. Rainfall should also be considered.
For best results, you should feed your lawn once a month during summer using Lawnifi’s Summer Fertilizer Box or apply Lawnifi Foundation no less than three times a year.
It is not recommended to apply an herbicide at this time. If temperatures exceed 85 degrees Fahrenheit, the herbicide can cause severe injury to the grass.
Common weeds like dallisgrass, crabgrass and goosegrass should be avoided.
Any white grubs should be controlled. Apply Merit 0.5G, Scotts GrubEx and Dylox 6.2.2 to control grubworms. Granular varieties can be applied to your lawn to improve soil absorption.
Add the watering to your weekly watering. Because they are so small, August is the best month for controlling them. Other insects to be on the lookout for include billbugs and mole crickets.
Innovation is not at high risk of becoming a major epidemic. Heritage broad-spectrum antifungal is recommended to address the problem. Apply granular fungicides to your lawn immediately to aid soil absorption.
This watering can be added to your weekly watering.
