Sketch your yard
Try and make a sketch of your yard. Mark the areas you wish to fill with sod. Take measurements around the perimeter of the area. Then, write down the numbers.
You should not include garages and sidewalks. It is always better to do the calculations so that you don’t buy less sod or, worse, spend more money than you need.

Rectangular Areas:
If you require grass sod for a rectangular or square area, measure it and then write down the numbers. Sometimes, you will need to divide the area into smaller pieces in order to calculate a more precise result.
